The Mobile Digital Laboratory (MOCEL) project by the Agency for Cultural Resilience continues to provide Ukrainian museums with advanced equipment for digitizing their collections.
Recently, experts set up a temporary digitization lab at the Kamianske History Museum, where, under the leadership of director Natalia Bulanova and with a professional photographer, the museum began large-scale work on digitizing its collections.
The team will first digitize paintings, graphics, and sculptures using high-resolution equipment. The photo archive of the museum, including photographs, films, and slides, will also be digitized using a specialized A3 flatbed scanner for graphic materials.
“Working with the mobile laboratory equipment is not just modernization — it’s an investment in the future of our culture. Digitized materials will be accessible to researchers, students, and anyone interested in the city’s history and art. We sincerely thank the Agency for Cultural Sustainability, as well as its representatives who directly delivered and installed the equipment – Bohdan Poshyvailo and Mariya Poshyvailo. We are grateful for the support and the opportunity to implement this project, which will allow us to digitize the most valuable exhibit” said Natalia Bulanova.
The museum’s collection, formed since the 1960s, includes around 100,000 artifacts, including artworks, ethnographic, archaeological, and paleontological items. The museum also preserves the Mamai Cossacks collection and organizes the nationwide historical and cultural festival “Mamai-Fest.”
MOCEL is implemented under the supervision of Ihor Poshyvalio and with the support of international partners — Cultural Emergency Response, ALIPH Foundation, and the Netherlands Nationaal Archief.
