Overnight, the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral in Bila Tserkva was damaged by Russian shelling.

The blast shattered windows and damaged shutters of the cathedral.

The city’s cathedral was built between 1833 and 1839 within the courtyard of the partially ruined Mykilska Church. It was constructed in the classical style based on the design of the Odessa Cathedral.

On June 29, 2023, according to the decision of the Bila Tserkva City Council, the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral and Mykilska Church were transferred to the administration of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU).
