The Pereiaslav National Historical and Ethnographic Reserve has joined the Mobile Digital Laboratory (MOCEL) project implemented by the Agency for Cultural Resilience (ACURE).
The project aims to accelerate the digitization of museum collections and support the preservation of cultural heritage during wartime. As part of the initiative, the Reserve plans to prioritize the digitization of art collections and traditional Ukrainian embroidered shirts.
The digitization process is carried out using professional equipment provided by the mobile laboratory, enabling the creation of high-quality digital copies of museum objects. This approach allows for detailed documentation of artifacts, including their condition, craftsmanship, and unique features.
The Pereiaslav Reserve holds more than 200,000 museum objects, including archaeological, ethnographic, and art collections, as well as numismatics, textiles, icons, ceramics, and early printed books.
The Mobile Digital Laboratory (MOCEL) project is curated by Ihor Poshyvailo and implemented with the support of international partners — Cultural Emergency Response, the ALIPH Foundation, and the Netherlands National Archives (Nationaal Archief).
