EU to Establish the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Fund with an Office in Ukraine

The European Union has announced the establishment of the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Fund, which will include a representative office based in Ukraine.

The fund will serve as a key mechanism for coordinating and managing international financial assistance aimed at safeguarding, preserving, and restoring Ukraine’s cultural heritage, which has suffered extensive damage as a result of Russia’s full-scale invasion.

The initiative is expected to introduce a systematic approach to supporting museums, archives, libraries, and heritage protection institutions, while strengthening cooperation between Ukrainian stakeholders and international donors.

The creation of the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Fund marks an important step toward a long-term strategy for rebuilding Ukraine’s cultural sector and integrating it into the broader European cultural framework.
