Historic Center of Odesa Damaged by Russian Attacks

The historic center of Odesa came under attack by Russian forces.

During a massive drone strike on the night of July 24, 2025, one of Europe’s oldest markets, “Privoz”, caught fire. The Primorsky Boulevard and several architectural monuments included in the UNESCO World Heritage list were also damaged.

Damaged sites include:

• Vorontsov Palace – national architectural monument;

• Palace (Primorsky Boulevard, 9) – national architectural monument;

• Rodokanaki House, housing the "Hotel de Versal" – national architectural monument;

• “London” Hotel Building – national architectural monument;

• Mishchanska Administration Building;

• Fruit Passage;

• Odesa-Port Station building.

In total, 7 cultural heritage sites were damaged, 4 of which are national monuments.

The drone strike caused damage to windows, doors, facades, roofs, floor slabs, and structural elements due to blast waves and debris.

A nine-story residential building was also destroyed during the night attacks.
